Pastor Kris Nichols of Redeeming Grace A.M.E. Zion Church located at 1690 Rigsby San Antonio, Texas 78210 has a
ministry called
"Helping Hands Outreach" that distributes food and clothing to the homeless, single mothers and the elderly.
The outreach takes place every Tuesday at noon. Several volunteers help set up and dispense the food and clothing.
The recipients are given the opportunity to select items they want, this gives them a sense of dignity and respect.
They have bananas, cantaloupes, cakes, bread, bags of salad kits, and several other assorted items. They typically feed about
300 children and 400 adults each month. They also deliver several boxes of groceries for homebound people. Each week
Pastor Kris Nichols of Redeeming Grace picks up over 1,000 lbs. of food from Daily Bread Ministries.

Feed the Children recently called us after our first food outreach with them and the NFL Players Association in February, and
asked if we would like to have another event like that one (see Web Posted: February 10, 2011 below). We said certainly! They said the first outreach went so well,
they wanted to partner with DBM in future outreaches. We want to thank the Missions Club of Cornerstone Christian Schools for
helping load cars, as well as Sold Out Believers, Living Water Faith Outreach, and the many other volunteers who helped make
that day a success. Each family received a box of food, a box of books and household items, and a box of women's products from
Avon. |

The 2nd Annual Daily Bread Ministries Golf Tournament at Silverhorn Golf Club was awesome! We want to say thank you to all
who came out and supported us, as well as a HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS: TEXAS GALLERY FURNITURE (Golf Flag Sponsor
$3,000.00), DELOITTE (Silver Golf Cart Sponsor $1,500.00), ACCENTURE (Bronze Hole in one Sponsor $750.00),
Frost Bank (Hole Sponsor $250.00), (Helotes Bridge Storage $1,000.00),
LNO Tire Company ($250.00). Also, thanks
to Ben E. Keith Foods, and RK Group for all the food, catering and snacks - they have been a blessing to Daily Bread for years.
The following companies/organizations had foursomes: Texas Gallery Furniture, Truax Construction, Accenture, Baptist Health Foundation,
Diotte International, Deloitte Consulting LLP, Kegley Contracting, Farmer Group, Fry Roofing Inc, Grace San Antonio,
Juice Plus, Miller Group, SWBC Mortgage, Grace Church,
Worship City Church, and there were many individuals who made up foursomes. We are very grateful to everyone who participated. Without them the Golf Tournament would not have been a success.
The funds raised helped us purchase raw food product from Kids Against Hunger, which will produce over 40,000 meals.
These meals will be used in San Antonio, Mexico, and Haiti. With one in four children going to bed hungry in San Antonio,
we have a huge challenge. For every dollar given to DBM, we are able to give away $20 worth of food. Together, we can make
a difference in our city, and around the world.

With a coordinated effort between the city, other organizations and volunteers, the clean up project at 1406
Santa Barbara was a complete success. They helped paint, provided plumbing and conducted minor repairs.
The City's Solid Waste Department removed 28 tons of debris and provided roll off containers, grappler and garbage trucks
and were there for a total of 4 days. Volunteers came from other States as well to lend a helping hand. Vector Control sprayed the property before the clean up to ensure there were no bees or
creepy crawlers. Mr. Mingo Portillo of Planning and Community Development provided 10 gallons of paint.
Mr. Javier Vasquez from the City Manager's Office helped coordinate the project. Code Officer Lupe Guerrero, her husband Juan
Guerrero, and Richard Zertuche offered assistance on Saturday with the clean up effort and Melissa Guedea from the Graffiti section
provided paint rollers and brushes.
Mr. Chuck Farmer of Daily Bread Ministries provided all the volunteers. Mr. Farmer coordinated with his partners long before the
clean up took place to ensure the project would be a success. The Los Angeles Heights N.A President Richard Acosta provided drinks and meals. The following were the partners
involved: Daily Bread Ministries, Fuller Center for Housing, San Antonio Dream Center, All Nations Church, Cross Mountain Church,
Alabama University Navigators, Georgia University Navigators, Bent Plumbing Services, Lowe's Hardware on Callaghan, and the Los
Angeles Heights Neighborhood Association. The property owner was so thankful for all the efforts and the adjoining neighbors were
also very grateful for the efforts.

and your giving heart. If you have a group who is looking for ways to serve and be a blessing, give us a call to schedule

On February 1st, Daily Bread Ministries (DBM) partnered with the National Football League (NFL) Players Association
and Feed the Children to bless families in need in our city. Working with volunteers from the San Antonio Police
Department, the NFL Players Association, Ethnos Missions, Sold Out Believers, and the Varsity football players from
MacArthur High School, we had the opportunity to serve our community by giving boxes of food and household items
away to 800 families in need. They drove through our parking lot at DBM warehouse, and we loaded their vehicles with food,
smiles and blessings package - a Christian food blessing drive through!
Feed the Children provided two semi-trailer loads
of food and household items - enough for 800 families - and we provided the location, the needy families, and the
volunteers. We had over 150 volunteers who served together that day, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
It was such a success that Feed the Children has contacted us about doing this again in the near future!

We kicked off January 2011 right with the Cornerstone Christian School’s Mission Club coming to the DBM warehouse
to bag food packets for Kids Against Hunger. More than 30 students showed up Saturday morning the 22nd to help distribute food
and to package almost a pallet of food (7,128 meals) to send to Mexico or Haiti; two countries that are in dire need. There were
students from every class level – freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. They have been faithful to come and
serve each month during the school year over the past couple of years, and they always bring a lot of help and a
great attitude. |

Around 16 of the Gear Grinders showed up at Daily Bread Ministries' warehouse the week of Christmas to help make it a
little brighter for five different families. The
"Gear Grinders" is a local car club in San Antonio that was started
in 1952. They did a fund raiser this year, because they wanted to help some families in need. The President of the club,
Butch Baird, contacted Daily Bread and Ethnos Missions for help in this task, and we chose five needy families.
We all met at the warehouse where each family was given $300.00. Thank you Gear Grinders for your generosity and Christmas
Spirit - it was a blessing to get to be a part of this special event. |

We had over 60 volunteers and staff for our 2010 Volunteer Appreciation Banquet
which can only be expressed through the prayer below.
Our Gracious Heavenly Father....We know that the power of one kind heart added to another and another gives birth to a
legacy of Your love, and yields a harvest of commitment to the lives of others, which lives beyond this earthly day and into
eternity. So, in our prayers of gratitude and thankfulness this evening, we lift our faces and hearts toward you and express
our sincerest gratitude and praise for each and every Daily Bread Volunteer.
As we look out over our community and turn our faces toward this steady stream of service and love generated by thousands of
volunteer activities, we become aware that love has and is transforming our lives, the lives of our families and friends, the
lives of our neighbors, and the lives of our fellow citizens; and the kingdom of God is growing.
We thank You heavenly Father for these grace-filled volunteers, and the rich blessings wrought upon our community, by their
compassionate hearts. Bless not only our time and the food we partake this evening, but also the ever giving hearts and lives
of these volunteers.

Campmeeting Tabernacle Church located at 161 Beethoven in San Antonio picks up food from Daily Bread Ministries
and distributes it every Tuesday & Thursday. Over 6 years ago, Pastor Mike Dabbs started this outreach that provides food to
about 500 people a month. According to Paster Dabbs, they have several 70+ year-old couples whose income does not meet all their food needs. Also, they have
several single mothers who receive both food and diapers supplied by Daily Bread Ministries. Mike said the people who he provides food are
located close to his church. He tries to obtain addresses and phone numbers, so he can stay in contact with them to provide
further assistance and support. Those with large families, he provides additional supplies for back-to-school and on Thanksgiving,
Christmas, and Easter to include turkeys, chickens, and other gifts. Mike says this ministry is on going and he lives on the
property where people in need can knock at his door anytime of the day or night.

At Daily Bread Ministries loading dock on Saturday March 20th, Pastor Jimmy Robles of Last Chance Ministries and his cast of 47
put on a drama that showed how much God loves us, and how He is always there for us no matter what we have done.
We were also blessed to have two bands - "Nissi"
www.nissimusic.org and "Exodo" www.exodoband.com - lead us in dynamic worship and praise. That Saturday was one
of the coldest of the month, but many people came anyway.
Channel 41, "Univision" came out with their camaras and interviewed Pastor Jimmy and some of the cast members.
More than 200 people joined us for a time of fellowship and evangelism. At the end of the drama there wasn't a dry eye in
the audience. Pastor Jimmy gave an altar call, and the entire front of the stage was filled with people praying and crying
out to God. Pastor Jimmy and his cast plans on performing this same drama each month of this year in different locations
around the city. They have already performed this drama over 40 times, with hundreds receiving Christ as their Savior.
