Our "Building for Life Campaign" will need to raise $2 million dollars to purchase and fully equip a warehouse in downtown San Antonio. Buying and properly equipping a warehouse will provide Daily Bread Ministries with a permanent home that will improve and increase our ability to store and manage the goods we receive.

We desire to remain centrally located so that, in partnership with others, we can serve the emergency food needs of the working poor and homeless in San Antonio and surrounding counties. Our operational budget allows us to meet our normal expenditures, but the cost to purchase a facility requires a significant short term infusion of funds to make our dream a reality.

Therefore, we are undertaking this special capital campaign to raise funds to obtain and equip this vital facility. In cooperation with many throughout our city and trusting in God's provision, Daily Bread Ministries has faithfully helped meet physical and spiritual hunger in our community for over 15 years.

We are a place of connection and change for people, ministries and businesses throughout our community. During the past 15 years over 400 ministries and agencies (about 1/3 of the churches in San Antonio) have received and redistributed food to those in need. We have partnerships with over 30 food sellers and catering groups within our city.

Our work has served as a catalyst to help ministries fulfill their mission. As we seek to create a permanent home for the ministry we want to invite others in our community to partner with us. We ask you to help us build upon our history of success and join us in helping fulfill the vision of meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the poor in our community.

Our goal is to secure $2 million by December 31, 2010. Facility ownership will allow us to remain true to our mission while furthering our reach and providing more food to more of those in need in our community. Funds raised beyond our $2 million goal will be used to further equip the warehouse. A new refrigerated truck is needed at a cost of $90,000. The ministry would also like to install a commercial grade kitchen on site at a cost of $25,000. Another need is updated office furniture at a cost of $2,000. If funds are available, meeting these secondary needs will further the mission of Daily Bread Ministries.
