Daily Bread Ministries (DBM), a faith-based food ministry,
began providing services in 1996 and received its
501(c)(3) tax status in 1997. Since its beginnings,
DBM has quietly become the major supplier of
rescued food to San Antonio's often overlooked
and frequently underserved "poorest of the poor".
Our efforts to supply free food and other goods
to churches and compassion organizations has
grown to over 200 partners who reach our city
to supply the needs of those they serve. DBM
currently leases a 20,000 square foot warehouse
located in downtown San Antonio. DBM gathers
donated food from local food companies, trucking
companies, catering businesses, produce markets and farms.
DBM receives intermittent shipments from partner national food ministries such
as Operation Blessing, Feed the Children, Kids Against Hunger, and Convoy of Hope.

DBM has the ability to efficiently collect food resources in a timely manner and prepare them for redistribution through
our central warehouse with the help of a large volunteer network. Over the last five years DBM has averaged collecting
and redistributing over four million pounds of food annually through our distribution of registered partner organizations.

DBM is a registered satellite and distribution partner of Kids Against Hunger
(KAH), a humanitarian feeding organization. In alliance with DBM's mission, KAH seeks to significantly reduce the number
of hungry children in the USA and throughout the world. DBM packages and ships this nutritional food product to wherever
the need is, whether local, in another state or in another country. In 2010 DBM supervised volunteers in the packaging of
a total of 73,885 Kids Against Hunger meals which were distributed in the U.S., Haiti, the Amazon and into Mexico.
Because of our large volunteer base, we have a low overhead which maximizes our funding to assist those in need. Due to our
success in San Antonio, we have assisted in developing partner food distribution centers in Boerne, New Braunfels, Seguin,
Pleasanton, Castroville, and Eagle Pass, Texas.
